The Husband and I decided we wanted our work studio to have an undersea theme. We are just getting started.
Fabric was his choice ~ sturdy, yet breathable flowing material; two different solid blues with complimentary difference in hues when held against each other in sunlight. The lighting and color effects change at night to a deep, shimmering water pattern with the fish still ghostly visible.
Fish are made of ordinary construction paper and are about the size of my hand Each fish is its own solid color with water paints applied on the body for design. The fish are double sided in order to hold bunched up tissue paper wads in their girth for a more realistic 3D appearance.
The double panels of the curtains are hung with their one short side unsewn and open at the top. I hand stitched the curtain panels together like giant pillow cases so that I could string and hang the paper fish from the curtain rods and drop them down between the panels at varying lengths and body tilts.
I used transparent fishing line and a sewing needle to hanging the large fish then dropped them inside the curtain panels and let them swim free with the movement of incoming/outgoing air from the window.
The teeny weeny fish are stapled onto a flattened, meshed onion bag and hung from the netting's top edge.
