I don't know why I like this shot, babe.
Is it the contrast? Is it because of the cup's size difference? Sepia tones? Or the wonder, on what they are looking that? :)

Lots there I didn't realize. :)

LOL at the massive mug. See, I'm seeing this as a statement about how men get more rights than women, which is being enforced by the sepia tone. The woman giving the audience the bird, as my slang says, reminds us that it is in modern times, and presents us with the idea that the male dominance ideal is still in the picture, whereas the male, being black, shows that we DO have racial equality, but only as the gender culture allows.

Heh, how did I do for my bullshittery? I like it that the rule of thirds is applicable here, whether you did it intentionally or not. It's very well placed, and set up.

Not familiar with the rule of thirds... never went to school.

Well, I knew what you've said here would be something a lot of people
could interpret as being a reasonable conclusion to a myriad of messages.
To be honest, I'm glad and most honored you would commit your thoughts
to this work and I'm glad someone said all that you've mention.

More honesty is...
I meant nothing.
I was setting up a photo I felt was cool to maybe just look at.
Like a set of cupcakes on a napkin, or two cars on the street.

Hee! I wasn't really after anything particular, outside of aesthetics.
Meanwhile, I'm flattered you'd take my work so seriously.
You've taught me to see beyond my own vision.

But please tell me about the Rule of Thirds.

The rule of thirds is a photographic and film technique. Basically you seperate the shot into thirds horizontally and vertically. When you do this, the intersection points are called "hot spots" and because of a very scientific reason which I can't really be bothered going into, aesthetically, things that are in these 4 positions are more likely to generate an effect on the viewer.
So what this means is that if you place something in a hot spot artistically, you can get a GREAT effect. I have a great photo in my gallery, and I'm pretty sure I used the rule of thirds there... I don't remember if I did or not, but I think I did.
Simply put, it makes things look goooood.

Haha, I was bullshitting about the meaning behind it, although for each person, having a different insight, or interpretation is always good. That is what I picked up in it, and I hope you enjoyed reading me bang on about what is essentially nothing.

Tell you what...
I value these kinds of comments, interpretations and bullshitting
like you wouldn't believe.

Know how much they carry over to the next piece I do.
I never forget these things,
and I'm not sure I'd be even this progressed without the influence.

I value every word of it. ;)

Thanks for the explanation.
Now I guess I knew all that innately.
Then again, no... most of my work is "off"
and been told that a million times.

Maybe it ALL works, at the end of any day depending
who we all are by then.

Well I'm glad I'm having an effect. As for your work being "off", avant garde art is often the best. After all, would the Expressionist art movement have succeeded if they were worried that, in comparison to the Impressionists, they were a little off? Heh, a bit of art and film movement lingo for you. :)

Art is bullshit, it is everything and nothing, and therefore, there is no such thing as correct or incorrect, just the artists opinion. That's why it does ALL work.

Well, everything works... until you talk to a Marketing Master.
I used to do it, and for too many years.
Got caught up in the "impact" of things.
Placement? I was a rebel and forced myself to find a...
rule of thirds or whatever and not quite do it.
The blah-blah of
what made a food ad more delicious looking,
or made any sports car more the center of attention
then the lovely lady laying on it.

Colors and fonts that remind us of health, money, freedom, romance...
all that crap.

Expressionists vs. Impressionists
I'd lose big money betting on what was what.
