Ah, the never happening arrival. I enjoy sitting back with some Early Times Kentucky whiskey, and writing of more important and better things. And playing a pennywhistle or harmonica, basking in the glow of real happiness.
The good flutes, as opposed to the student/crap models, probably start at about 3 thousand dollars and up past 12 thousand dollars. Expensive whistles in the standard high D key are about 3 or 4 hundred to maybe 700 dollars, and those are usually custom tuned to your specifications, and made by one guy. You might have be on the waiting list for a year for some of them. The cheap ones, that often sound pretty good, are about 8 or 10 dollars. None of mine are expensive, mostly around 7 or 8 dollars, though my current favourite is 81.

I feel I'm missing something grand.
I've got much to learn.
