Just started doing live reading myself down here, in-between comedy shows. It's always hard to pick out poems for doing spoken word, as we always judge ourselves harder when surrounded by peers, but this one's a definite winner.
Man, I'm glad to hear you're on stage as well! Between comedy acts? I wonder how that effects the crowd when the poetry isn't anywhere near humorous Wild shifts in mood, or snap-to-it brain engagement I'd imagine but maybe not.
I've been told that an artist should always choose what his audience deems is their best work. Of course what the artist favors, almost never matches popular opinion, but still I would guess its the way to go.
In this case, I DO believe this is one of my better pieces. Again, thanks for reminding me it was in the pile and giving me that needed boost.
Always glad to see your work. Not much other reason to come back to dA, honestly. I barely write anymore. My catharsis comes from antagonizing comedy crowds now. But when I do still write things, I always make sure I see your recent work in the process.
I think this will be one of the few I take to a live reading.
Your words are MUCH appreciated.

You've been a hell of an inspiration yourself over the years.
Thanks, babe.
But thank you for the value you have found in me as well.
And let it screech
They waters fine
(They say)
But toes are unsuitable thermometers
For volcanic life disruptions
In THAT case
One should bear arms
That actually hold hands
Totally immersed
A seed unhunted cunt
Sighs in revenge
For if it walks like duck
It probably fucks like one
And frankly my dear
After the party
I could not give
A damn(ed)
